How could a doctor’s loan help you?

An apple a day may keep the doctor away, but so will a medical practice that could really do with some extra cash. So just how can you inject a clean bill of health into your business?

Insurance

It’s a statutory requirement under ‘good medical practice’ for all doctors to have insurance – and you probably don’t need a whole host of letters after your name to appreciate why. Sometimes things go wrong, and a patient suffers as a result of negligence – it is important, therefore, to ensure you are covered by all the medical insurance necessary – and not just because the GMC have said you have to. In fact, the GMC even has the power to remove your license to stop you from practicing altogether if it learns you don’t have adequate and appropriate insurance.

Computer hardware

Like it or not, we live in a digital age, and computers are now an accepted part of medical practice, with really no limit on just how much you can invest in these days, the right technology – which can offer assistance with scheduling, billing and prescriptions – to name but a few - is invaluable.

Practice refurbishment

More than just a ‘pretty face’, ploughing some money into your practice’s appearance will help you meet regulations, improve performance and enhance patient experience.

Office equipment

Even if you’re not in the position to undertake a whole refurbishment, you will still need to invest in a whole host of office equipment and supplies – on top of the normal computers, printers, phones and desks – such as a fully furbished waiting room, examination table, sink and counter, scale, chairs and stools, cabinets, large-screen monitors, filing systems and toys – and that’s before we mention the actual medical equipment needed to do the job, such as thermometers, stethoscopes, blood pressure monitors and consumables such as sterile gloves, gauze, syringes … you get the point.
